One of the most interesting things in Laos was the ancient temples. They are beautiful and in pristine condition. Here are some photos of my favorites. Another experience was watching the monks and apprentice monks take alms each morning. They start around 5AM and walk through the city gathering their daily rice from devotes. They walked just past my doorstep in silence. The monks live in monasteries and walk all over town. It was very interesting to see the Buddhist culture up close.
